Fontanos Family Time
Last weekend Phil and I were lucky enough to spend the weekend away and surprisingly in the sun. The weather report for Waldport spoke of rain but we were pleasantly surprised.
We had a wonderful time relaxing and hanging out Saturday while we waited for my Parents. We just love this view from the house. Such a pretty peaceful sight.
I spent some time reading My Sister's Keeper. I'm a bad reader. I read a few pages get distracted, reread the page I just read then get distracted again.
I was so happy to be out in the sun!
I tried to get Phil to sit with. He gets too antsy like a little boy and has to do stuff.
We went out to lunch at Waldport Seafood Company in the bay. I had delicious fish tacos with mango salsa.
When then headed to Driftwood Beach
Phil was excited about his tiny crab friend
And I found this.
"Hey babe lets take jumping pictures like everyone else does when they go to the coast"
"Babe seriously, will you just give me your best jump?! Please!"
"Really, babe?! Thats all you got?!"
Went back home for more reading while we waited for my fam.
Phil did some important fishing.
A Keeper!
Once my family arrived we went out to Waldport for pizza. Then we went to Seal Rock. I had never been.
It was big and beautiful and windy.

I'm really happy Kenny could make it. My lil' baby brother starts college this year. so weird.
It was fun looking in all the little pools at star fish and such. The sunset was gorgeous.
We retired the evening with a campfire in the backyard. We roasted marshmallows and made smores...mmmm!
Sunday morning we had a hearty family breakfast.
Glenda Roe gave me her secret pancake ingredient. If I tell you I'll have to kill you.
Dad and Phil went crabbing while my mom and I went shopping in Newport.
We ALWAYS go to Moe's. But my dear friend Brandon argues that The Chowder Bowl in Nye Beach is way better. I told my mom and she was up for the challenge. And, well, Brandon wins.
We then took our books to Stephanie's Cafe for more reading and Mochas.
After shopping we went back to my lil' bro who finally decided to wake up. We put the kyaks in the river and poor ken tipped over first thing. ha ha ha!
We paddled down to a house that is for sale and that we WISH we could buy.
I have a feeling we'll buy a river house some day. We loved the Bain's house.
Phil and Dad came back with 9crabs or crabes as we call them.
We had family dinner on the porch.
We ate like kings! My parents had brought rib eye steaks for the bbq.
We surprised my dad with an early birthday cake. He quickly changed the numbers around.
Happy "45th" Birthday Dadddy, Love you!
After a big meal you have to relax in the hottub with a cocktail!
We retired that evening with a family movie then slept in. My parents left around noon and Phil and I trolled the river for Chinook. No luck, we're still a little too early.
Thank you John and Lynn for sharing your house!!! My family had such an awesome time!
