Attention Doxology Community

Sweet Baby Gabe is almost here!!(Studio M Photography)

I'm organizing volunteers on a 4week schedule that are willing to go up/over/down to Independence to bring the Pannebakers a meal or take sweet Grace on a play date so that Leslie can rest with the new tiny guy.

As soon as we hear word that sweet Gabe has blessed us with his presence we can start filling in dates. Family has requested the first week post partum for privacy and then we can start serving the Pannebakers. Please sign up for one or more days, or commit to the same day for the full 4 weeks.

Weekend Haps

Saturday Phil had a bachelor party in Portland and early Sunday morning we had my parent's dog show in Clackamas so I stayed in Beaverton with Brandon and Kayla.

We had a grrrrrrrreat evening. Fun and relaxing. I had fun with Kayla talking about their baby girl and working on organizing the adorable nursery. We had some AWESOME Pho for dinner at a near by vietnamese restaurant, then we rented the Usual Suspect, bought some red vines, root beer floats and made some popcorn! So fun.

I had to wake up super early to pick up Phil and head to the dog show. Mom and Dad show 2 of their 5 bulldogs. Yes, they are really into it and love it. Its a great new hobby for them now that they are empty nesters.Ace and Windy both got Reserve Champion. I dont know what that means. Sorta like 2nd place or something.

The fairgrounds had about 15diff rings showing all kinds of cute/ugly/funny dogs. I didn't realize how a dog show works, and I still kinda dont but I think it goes like this; first you win you class, then your sex, then your breed then you compete for best of show against other dogs?

Half of My Life

Last night night Jess and I went on a date for her 25th Birthday.
Miss Jessica and I have been friends for half of our lives. So crazy to think about like that.
Love you lady!

Good Morning Everyone!

We had our weekly party with lil' Bem-Bem. Phil has late start today, hooray! We heard a tiny little voice at 7:30am, "Nu-Nu, Nu-Nu" when we went to get her the first thing she said to us was "Elmo!" I caught these two holding hands and watching Elmo together. We LOVE our niece!

I rode a bike yesterday for the first time in YEARS for about an hour. I am so so sore! Next time I need a special oldlady seat. One that is really cushy and wide for my bottom.

Good Full Fun Saturday

Phil didn't have to work! He found out Friday night that he didn't have to go in on Saturday so we packed in as much as we could into our weekend.

Saturday morning we woke up and started working on our yard. My mom and baby bro came over and we built a fence to protect the garden from the dogs.

Then we went to the saturday market. It was good this week. Hip hop dancers and a great musical performances with maybe 6 balafons? Is that what they are? I had to google it.

Ate a great lunch at the market, and bought some peppers for the garden.

After my fam went home Phil and I went on a good scooter ride.

We spent a few hours back in the garden, weeding, planting the peppers and replanting seeds where the dogs destroyed my baby plants. Hopefully its not too late to plant seeds.

Emma game over at 3ish. We went on a nice long walk to the park for a picnic. Awesome park with recycle tires for a soft bouncy ground.

After our picnic we walked to the duck park to feed them our leftover bread...Emma eventually discovered the bread was more fun to eat than to throw to the ducks.

Then we visited the Bain family. Betsy is so sweet Emma. She likes to hold her face and talk to her very close.

We took Bem home, had a short visit with Pete and Jenn then went on a hot date to Applebee's. so romantic.

Is This For Real?

So according to CalorieCount.about.com

You Burn:
mowing the lawn for one hour- 364cal
weeding the garden for one hour-298cal

I guess I'll be doing this today after work instead of wogging. We haven't touched our yard in 2weeks and our flower beds in a month. Man Oregon, is so tropical. Now I really understand the phrase "growing like weeds".

The Future

My baby bro is now ready to step out into the big world and learn how to be an adult. Its been 7yrs since I graduated, weird, and I still feel like a kid.

My grandma, so beautiful!
Joel 28, Kenny 17 and Jenna 24.
The happy graduate scored big cash! Each of us got a senior trip when we graduated. My parents are tying to send Kenny to Hawaii but he doesn't want to go??? WHAT!! Who denies a free trip to Hawaii? The friend that was going to go with him can't anymore and he doesn't want to go alone. He said he'd go if I went....
So my Dad made MONSTER burger patties, so so huge! I had to cut mine in half. Oh, hey Uncle Bob.

The little guy plans on getting his CNA This summer and working while going to school to eventually become a Nurse..or a Murse.

Experiments

With Phil going back to work means more cooking. Its one of the good things when Phil goes back to work, I experiment on him and its fun. He is honest with me if I take things too far...

I know Phil would be happy with a costco frozen breakfast sandwich for breakfast and PB&J for lunch, he is very easy to please, but with all his hard work I want him to eat healthy.

Deli meat is expensive?! $6-$9 per pound. So instead I bought a pork shoulder from the discount meat bin at safeway 1.59/lb.

And the over processed, white hoagie rolls that get soggy in one hour are $5 for 6. So instead I bought a .99 baguette and cut it into thirds. Tastier, and cheaper. I just have to buy a new one every 3 days. But I don't mind.

For lunch this week Phil gets Thai Pork Baguettes

Cooking the pork shoulder:

boiled it for a few hours until the meat was flaky in:
soy
garlic
onion
ginger
rice vinegar
sirachi (hot sauce)
brown sugar

Made a slaw:
cabbage
green onion
carrot
cilantro
sesame oil
rice vinegar

PB on the bread to add a creamy texture.

everything is in organized tup-a-ware so Phil can easily prepare his sandwich in the morning.

Also for the morning... breakfast.

Breakfast burritos assembled the night before and kept on a paper plate(sorry beka) so phil can microwave in the morning.

In the food processor I blended, eggs, onion, spinach and red pepper. Just trying to sneak in extra vitamins in my huge batch of scrambled eggs. Stored in tupaware.

Soaked and boiled some pinto beans for extra protien.

made fresh salsa to go on top.

cut avocados into quarters to make it extra creamy so he doesnt miss the huge glob of sour cream.

I also got the uber healthy whole wheat low carb tortillas... I might get busted for that one.

My Regular Loop

ONLY TOOK MY 25mins TODAY!

It usually takes me 30min because I wog it. Today I did real jogging... THE WHOLE TIME!
Maybe someday I'll be an asian jogger confident enough to wear a special jogging outfit.

The Time Has Come

My Worker Guy has started his season.

He left this morning at 4:20am! gross! He'll probably get home around 7pm or 8pm, ugh! And, as I had predicted, will be working Saturdays.

I miss him already! We have spent so much time together this last school season, I'm going to be a lonely lady the next 15weeks. Previous summers I had roommates. This summer I have...working out?

Phil got this sweet reward to put on his hard hat. It would say 3years but he got hurt his first summer.

In Training

Our family(and maybe Phil) is allergic to dogs, so unfortunately we have to keep them outside. I also really hate animal hair, GROSS.

But we decided they can come in if they stay on the rug next to the door in our non-carpeted room.

So far they are doing a great job.

Sunday Family Dinner

We had a wonderful Kelley Family Dinner.

Delicious chili+ matching African pants for all+ babies in the park= a grand ole time!

It is so much fun to swing

and to hug
and to pick flowers
and to pull the petals off the flowers
and to slide (this is Seth's laughing face, I promise he wasn't crying)

and to run

and to hang and to go down the double slide with Nu-Nuand to Peak through holes
and to climb
